EDITORIAL DESIGN: Spring 2020 Angelos

Once a quarter, I design the national magazine — cover to cover — for Kappa Delta Sorority's National Headquarters. I work closely with the editor of the magazine to walk through the full content provided and any vision she might have for the design.

For the Spring 2020 issue, the cover features a member story on Katie Krall, a woman working toward being MLB's first female GM. As a play on "women in baseball," I incorporated a female symbol around the baseball Katie is holding. Then, I carried the same color scheme and fonts over to her feature article design.

Some sections of each issue stick to a consistent design and layout based on Kappa Delta's overall branding, such as the table of contents — the first opening spread of every magazine.

Feature spreads are where I really get to express my creativity, as the design is based solely around the content of each specific article. Here are a few of the feature article layouts from the Spring 2020 issue.
