Curating this progressive gift guide reminded us how much we loved having a brick-and-mortar shop (briefly back in 2023), as we were regularly able to feature goods in the shop from our fellow women-owned businesses. Elizabeth Peratrovich (1911 - 1958) was born in Petersburg, Alaska, a member of the Lukaax.ádi clan in the Raven moiety of the Tlingit nation. She was an American civil rights activist who fought for equal rights for Alaska Natives and played a crucial role in getting Alaska’s Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945 passed, the first equal rights law passed in the United States.
