CUSTOM GIFTS: Girl Scouts of Western Washington
This collaboration with the Girl Scouts of Western Washington came to us from a fellow sorority sister, Julie (pictured second from right), who I (Kristen) met in Seattle, WA, in 2013 during a work trip as the multimedia manager at Kappa Delta Sorority National Headquarters.
Since 2013, Julie and I have kept in contact and seen each other every year or so, at National Kappa Delta Sorority events.
As the Associate Vice President of Girl Experience, part of Julie's role at Girl Scouts of Western Washington isĀ managingĀ their annual Global Action program, whichĀ provides her the opportunity to work directly with teens and volunteers.
In June 2020, Cadette Girl Scouts participated in a Virtual Global Action Summit,Ā which gave them the opportunityĀ to learn about action through advocacy while gaining a better understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The summit is a leadership program led by a team of Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts who teach middle schoolers about taking action through advocacy.Ā In other words, it's empowered women empowering women.
The custom gifts we created for Julie are being given to the volunteers who are supporting the summit. Each set of 4 marble coasters includesĀ 2 coasters with the green and white Girl Scout logo,Ā 1 coaster of theĀ Global Action Summit event logo andĀ 1 coasterĀ of our "Empowered Women Empower Women" designĀ ā edited to match the color scheme of the event logo and Girl Scout brand colors.
We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate on a gift for an organization who is empowering women.Ā
