Our new series, “Starting Small,” goes behind the scenes on our adventure of starting our own small business. This week is all about “Taking Chances.”
16 vendor booth tips and ideas for selling at art festivals, craft fairs and indie markets.
Fall of 2012 marked our first experience as an art vendor, at Cooper Young Festival in Memphis, TN. Over the years, we’ve padded our resume with quite a few more shows and experimented with a LOT of trial and error on our vendor booth layout and setup. We’ve learned a lot, both from our own experiences and from looking to other vendors for inspiration.
Strategies and tips for building a business with family members.
One of the first questions we are asked when people find out we are sisters and work together is … How do you do it? We know what you’re thinking. You absolutely love your sister/brother/[insert family member here], but you cannot imagine working with them and spending all your time together.

Oh, Memphis. We were born here. We were raised here. We left for college. And we came back. Why? Because we love this city. We love how much it has grown over the last 10+ years. We love the potential we see for the next 10+. We love the 901. While we create more than just Memphis […]
We believe. We believe in our city of Memphis. We believe in our Memphis Grizzlies. We believe those two things go hand in hand. We are in love with our city and so proud of the overwhelming sense of community that having such a great team brings to it. We are also proud to show off that […]

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8th. Since 1911, it’s a day to celebrate the great achievements of women and call for greater equality. As a small business owned by two creative women, our achievement is art. So, in honor of International Women’s Day this year, we made some art inspired by another great […]
Here at ARCHd, we love us some Instagram. Haven’t you ever heard the saying, it didn’t really happen unless you posted a photo of it on social media? #Truth. So, what do you do with your Instagram and social media photos after you post them? Delete them when your phone storage runs out? Remember them while fondly […]
How do you DO that? It’s the most common question we hear from those seeing our wood art for the first time. Everyone wants to know all about our process of transferring photography and art prints to pieces of salvaged wood. Is it hard? Is it easy? How long does it take? Could I do it? No. No. […]

My sister, Kristen, often refers to herself as Taylor Swift‘s Number One Fan. And since I want to be just like my older, wiser, so-amazingly-awesome-sister, I also love Taylor Swift. Kristen likes to describe herself as the silent stalker type. Just because she hasn’t gotten around to creating a fan Instagram, Twitter account or blog, doesn’t mean she can’t […]
Dear Justin, We need to talk. One on two. We have an opportunity for you to invest in good times. It’s not a bad thing to do. There’s this situation, you see. It’s the historic Tennessee Brewery, at 495 Tennessee Street in Memphis, TN. It’s this beautiful old building. Seriously, just gorgeous. If no one buys it, they’re […]
My sister, Kristen, and I have not always been the close friends we are today. Don’t get me wrong. We’ve always loved each other. That family bond and fierce sibling protectiveness has always existed. Just growing up, we didn’t particularly like each other very much. At least not all the time. More often than not, I served my […]
I love to throw showers. As a co-host of my last wedding shower, my friends and I planned every small detail via a Google Doc and text messages. And, trust me. A truly great wedding shower is all about those little details. I assure you my bank account does not appreciate my tendency to have no little detail go […]
My friend, Celia, has been a part of my life for longer than I can remember. We’ve come a long way from the photo taken at my second birthday, below. Do I remember Celia eagerly watching over my shoulder as I prepared to blow out the candles sitting atop my custom Big Bird cake? Absolutely […]
You’ve heard from Lindsey, now it’s my turn. Welcome to my first blog post on ARCH’d. But don’t worry. Lindsey proofread everything. While my math skills aren’t exactly what you would call strong, hopefully my photography makes up for it. Here’s a sneak peak into my latest engagement photography session. I met Molly when I was a […]
